The Waggon Inn Pub, Eighton Banks, Gateshead
About the Pub
This family-run, food-led Free House consists of two dining areas; a large split-level dining area which leads off to a smaller, more intimate dining area at the side.
Focusing on quality ingredients, cooked to perfection, The Waggon Inn caters for diners of all ages and is very popular with diners returning to the Pub on a very regular basis.
To the rear of the main bar is a smaller public bar with a pool table and darts board to the rear. The Waggon Inn is one of the few pubs that cater to the sherry drinker by offering cask-matured draught sherry – we even have LCL Lager for the lager lover who is concerned about his figure! LCL is a Premium Pils lager and is lower in sugar than standard lagers (originially LCL was short for Low Carbohydrate Lager.
And if you are interested in Railway history the preserved Bowes rope-hauled railway runs to the rear. For more information, visit our History section on this site.
And don’t forget about our Pub ghost!
